Dojo representatives and fellow Kendoka,
Goseikan Kendo is once again excited to invite all practicing Kenshi to a very special event this September.
Goseikan is humbled to have the privilege of hosting three hachidan for a fall Kenma-Kai. This fall, we will be hosting Shozo Kato Sensei, Kyoshi 8th Dan, from Shidogakuin, Masaharu Kakehashi Sensei, Hanshi 8th Dan, former Chief Instructor of Keishicho, and Hidenori Iwasa Sensei, Hanshi 8th Dan, current instructor at Keishicho
Kenma-kai is an open event where Kendo practitioners from all dojos can come together to train with one another, and aim to improve oneself as well as those around us.
We are once again grateful to be able to put on this event, as well as offer this opportunity to bring fellow Kendoka together. Kato Sensei, Kakehashi Sensei, and Iwasa Sensei will lead the keiko, giving those in attendance a chance to learn from and practice with them.
Whether you are looking to prepare for upcoming taikai, shinsa, or improve your Kendo, this is a great event.
The event will take place on Wednesday evening on September 24. Choyokan Kendo has graciously offered to allow this Kenma-Kai to take place at their dojo in Avondale, Chicago. A big thank you to Choyokan for allowing us to host this event in their gorgeous space! The event time is 6:30-9:30 pm, with a reception to follow.
Event details are below, and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Goseikan. If you are coming from outside of the city and wish to stay the night, we can provide hotel options for you and your dojo members. We are here to help, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We hope to see all of you on 9/24!
